EXPERIENCE
Jim Gordon has over 20 years of operational management. A graduate of Troy High School, Jim went on to attend Delhi College and West Chester University where he earned his degree in Business Administration. Throughout his career, both in the private sector and the last 10 years in the public sector, Jim has demonstrated success in implementing strategies that improve efficiencies in the workplace, realized cost reductions and improve services for the client.
Jim has been at the forefront of improvements and technology updates that have improved the operation of Rensselaer County government and saved taxpayers millions of dollars. Jim serves Rensselaer County as Director of the Bureau of Central Services, overseeing county purchasing and technology services, as well as, providing oversight on county capital projects.
PERSONAL
Jim lives in the Winter Street area of North Greenbush with his son, Liam.
BELIEFS
Giving back to the community is a focus for Jim, who services on the Board of Directors for Twin Town Little League and as a youth hockey coach with the Troy Albany Youth Hockey Association. He previously served on the Troy City Council and led a volunteer effort and raised funds to establish the city’s September 11th Memorial.
